Mount Bird is a 1765 m high stratovolcano in the northwestern extension of the Antarctic Ross Island .
He was recorded cartographically during the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) under the direction of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott , who gave the mountain its name based on the nearby Cape Bird .
