Russian Standard ( Russian Русский стандарт , transcribed Russkij standart ) is a company based in Saint Petersburg , which produces and sells various vodka brands under the same name .

history

In 1992 the oligarch Rustam Tariko founded the Russian Standard company in Saint Petersburg . The vodka of the same name was introduced in 1998. With a 67 percent market share, Russian Standard was already the market leader in the premium segment in Russia in 2006. In December 2006 Rustam Tariko bought the domain “www.vodka.com” from a stranger for 2.2 million euros. He paid one of the highest known sums for a domain at the time.

Tarikos Roust Corporation took over the spirits manufacturer Central European Distribution Corporation (CEDC) in 2013 and now owns other vodka brands, such as the Russian vodka Зелёная Марка ( Green Mark ) , which has been produced since 1998, and the Polish flavored vodka Żubrówka . These vodkas are sold on the German market by the Hamburg-based Borco-Marken-Import .
