Rustam Wassiljewitsch Tariko ( Russian Рустам Васильевич Тарико , scientific transliteration Rustam Vasil'evič Tariko ; born August 30, 1961 in Menselinsk ), ethnic Tatar , is the founder of the largest Russian vodka producer Russian Standard .

Life

In 1987 Rustam Tariko graduated from the Moscow State University of Transportation . He made his first money as a student in the late 1980s and began his career in 1980 as a tourist guide in Moscow. From 1990 Tariko worked as a consultant for Ferrero Rocher in Russia and then founded Roust. Inc., with which he exclusively imported the Italian vermouth from Martini & Rossi (which also includes Bacardi ) and other liqueurs.

In 1998 Tariko founded the vodka manufacturer Russian Standard in Saint Petersburg , which in 2006 had a market share of over 60 percent in Russia. In autumn 1998 he founded a private bank with the same name. In December 2006 he bought the domain www.vodka.com for a sensational 2.2 million euros. On Forbes' list of the richest people in the world , he ranked 647 in 2009 with a net worth of $ 1.1 billion.

Rustam Tariko has three children: two twin daughters (* 2003) and one son (* 2007).
