The Rust College in Holly Springs , Mississippi in the United States is a gegründetse on 24 November 1866 college that with the United Methodist Church is connected. It is one of the historically Afro-American colleges and universities .
Founders were members of the "Freedman's Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church", who were committed to the emancipation of African Americans after the American Civil War . Rust is one of ten African American universities that were founded before 1868 and still exist.
The name "Rust" refers to Rev. Richard S. Rust of Cincinnati who was a senior member of the Freedman's Aid Society.
