Olympic rings

Ruth Kiener-Flamm (* 1924 in Berlin ; † 2000 ) was a German artist.

In 1972 she created the sculpture "Olympic Rings". The sculpture, consisting of five standing acrylic glass rings, was placed in the pedestrian area of Connollystrasse in Munich, in Munich's Olydorf . The rings standing one inside the other (with a diameter of 1.50 m to 4 m) lay on a common vertical axis and rotated slowly at different speeds, driven by a motor. This resulted in constantly changing aspects. In 2000 the sculpture was modeled by Peter Schwenk (this time made of light aluminum hollow profiles without a motor drive to push yourself).

In 1975 she received the Schwabing Art Prize .
