Ruth Kinna

Ruth Ellen Kinna (born March 1961) is a British university professor and political scientist specializing in the history of ideas and the theory of anarchism .

Live and act

Kinna studied politics and history at Queen Mary College of the University of London , where she earned her bachelor's degree. At Nuffield College of the University of Oxford she received her PhD in 1995 for Dr. Phil with a thesis on Kropotkin's Theory of Mutual Aid in Historial Context . In 1992 she moved to the Department of Politics, History and International Relations at Loughborough University . A treatise on " William Morris : the Art of Socialism " published in 2000 was followed by other essays dealing with the work of the British utopian. She later published other articles on anarchism and utopia. Another field of research is the analysis of violence and terrorism. Kinna participates in the coordination of the "Anarchism Research Group". She is one of the co-founders of the “Anarchist Studies Network” and is currently the editor of the academic journal Anarchist Studies, founded in 1993 . Kinna is currently Professor of Political Theory at Loughborough.
