Theming mountain

Rutschebanen (Danish for roller coaster ) in Tivoli Gardens ( Copenhagen , Denmark ) is a wooden roller coaster . It was originally opened as Bergbanan at the Baltic Fair in 1914 and sold to Tivoli at the end of the fair. It is not known exactly when the Rutschebanen was opened.

The 720 m long route has a height difference of 13 m between the highest and the lowest point. It was thematized in such a way that it resembles a mountain.

It belongs to the category of side-friction roller coasters, which means that the trains have no wheels under the rails. As there is a risk that the trains can take off and derail due to excessive speed, a so-called brakeman drives along with the train . This person ensures that the train does not exceed the maximum permitted speed.
