Rutube is a video portal in Russian . The site contains private videos and entertainment company licensing programs hosted directly on Rutube and videos that can also be viewed on Facebook . Rutube has around 14.5 million users per month.

The films are also available to non-registered users with a search function. Other functions such as B. Comments and Facebook connection require registration.

history

Rutube was founded in 2006 by Oleg Wolobujew and Mikhail Paukin in Oryol founded. In November 2008 the video portal was acquired by Gazprom Media Holdings . The purchase price was not known. In March 2009, experts estimated the video portal at $ 15 million, and Alexa lists it as one of the 150 most visited websites in Russia. After the purchase, Rutube's management was replaced and a new managing director was appointed. Before that, the director of the television station management department owned the Russian television station TNT . Rutube's offices were relocated to Moscow.
