Ruyter

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ruyter was a three- masted yacht and was conquered by them in the Second Sea War against England in 1665. The name has no relation to the Admiral Michiel de Ruyter of the same name .

This ship was rented from the VOC by the Amsterdam Admiralty in the same year . It carried 18 guns and was 68 feet long and 23 feet wide. Since the vehicle is not mentioned by Pieter van Dam, it must have been bought or rented by the VOC itself. It was probably lost with many other vehicles in the sea battle at Lowestoft .
