Ryūji Katō ( Japanese 加藤 竜 二 , Katō Ryūji ; born December 24, 1969 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Katō learned to play football in the school team of Urawa Gakuin High School . He signed his first contract with Toho Titanium SC in 1988 . The club played in the second highest division in the country, the Japan Soccer League Division 2. In 1991, he moved to league rivals Tokyo Gas . For the club he completed 60 games. In 1994 he moved to league competitor PJM Futures . For the club he completed 28 games. In 1995 he moved to the first division club Kashiwa Reysol . For the club, he completed 40 first division games. In 1998 he moved to the league competitor Consadole Sapporo . At the end of the 1998 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . In 2000 he moved to the first division club Sanfrecce Hiroshima . He then played for Sagawa Express Tokyo and Rosso Kumamoto (today: Roasso Kumamoto). At the end of 2007 he ended his career as a football player.
