Ryan Delahoussaye

Ryan Delahoussaye (born January 14, 1976 in Houston County / Texas ) is an American musician and plays for Blue October , which he founded in 1995 together with front man Justin Furstenfeld . He plays several instruments and is also the backing singer for the band.

Life

Delahoussaye was born in Houston in 1976 and met the future co-founder Justin Furstenfeld at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts . They have been inseparable friends ever since.

Career

Before Delahoussaye founded the group Blue October with Furstenfeld, he played with Harvey and Bayou Roux . But he only became known with Blue October, with which he has so far been actively involved in all publications.

Instruments

Delahoussaye is a multi-instrumentalist who is able to play the violin , mandolin , viola , electric violin , keyboard and tambourine . Delahoussaye's pizzicato with its string instruments has been an integral part of the band's musical style since it was founded. Furstenfeld said of Delahoussaye's handling of his instruments that he does not use his instruments like everyone else, but rather plays his string instruments like an additional guitar, which is the Blue in Blue October. He also said that the melody doesn't seem moody without him.
