The Rzepecki Islands [ ʐɛˈpɛt͡skʲi ] ( Polish Wyspy Rzepeckiego ) are four islands in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . They are located between Sygit Point and Bell Point off the John Paul II coast of King George Island .
Polish scientists named it in 1980. It is named after the Polish engineer Maciej Rzepecki, a participant in the Polish Antarctic expedition, which was carried out from 1980 to 1981 and during which he wintered in 1981 at the Arctowski station , where he was deputy station manager from 1980 to 1981 .
