The company is based in Cologne . It is produced exclusively in Germany. The products are used in the office , library and living areas. sdr + manufactured furniture based on designs by Dieter Rams , Thomas Merkel and the Dreiform design company. According to the company, the licenses for Dieter Rams' designs expired in 2012; production, including the well-known 606 shelving system, was discontinued by sdr + in 2012. In 2013 the name was changed to S + Systemmöbel GmbH with a new group of shareholders. The S + range comes mainly from Thomas Merkel. Sales are carried out by specialist retail partners in upscale furniture retailers, today in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal.
