Sándor Eckschmiedt

Sándor Eckschmiedt (born October 25, 1938 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian hammer thrower .

At the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade in 1962 and at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, he was eleventh.

A seventh place at the 1966 European Championship in Budapest was followed by a fifth place at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City.

In 1969 he was seventh at the European Championships in Athens and in 1971 at the European Championships in Helsinki and in 1972 at the Olympic Games in Munich sixth.

In 1972 he became Hungarian champion. He set his personal best of 71.96 m on June 3, 1972 in Mainz .
