Saber sheath tibia describes a forward curvature of the shinbone ( tibia ), as it occurs in rare cases as a late manifestation of congenital syphilis ( syphilis ) and yaws . The saber sheath tibia can also occur in the context of Paget's disease . It also occurs in osteodystrophia deformans and osteomalacia in rickets .

In a pseudo-saber sheath tibia, there is a hyperostosis on the front edge of the tibia .
