Saxon I

The Royal Saxon State Railways designated locomotives with the 1B wheel arrangement as class I , which were supplied by various manufacturers for mixed service.

history

In 1871, the Royal Saxon State Railways classified all those locomotives in Class I that were procured from various manufacturers in the early days of state railway construction in Saxony. These were all vehicles with a leading running axle and two coupled axles. The oldest locomotives of the class were procured from the Saxon-Bavarian Railway in 1847 . The last type I locomotive was retired in 1887. None of them remained in the museum.
