Saturation temperature

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The saturation temperature is a term from thermodynamics and describes the temperature at which a vapor has its minimum thermal energy without condensing , or a liquid its maximum thermal energy without boiling. The saturation temperature is therefore often equated with the boiling point at atmospheric pressure and is dependent on the ambient pressure, which in this context is called saturation pressure . The higher the saturation pressure, the higher the saturation temperature.
