Sébastien Foucan

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sébastien Foucan (born May 24, 1974 in Paris ) is a French extreme athlete. Along with other earlier Yamakasi, he is one of the founders of l'art du deplacement . He later developed freerunning from this sport . This contains more aesthetic and acrobatic elements than the externally similar Parkour by David Belle. However, the two types of locomotion differ in the idea behind them. Parkour is more about efficiency and speed, whereas freerunning is more about the movements themselves.

Foucan is one of the most famous players in this extreme sport worldwide. He acts as an ambassador for freerunning and strives to contribute to a positive public perception of the sometimes controversial sport.

Foucan regularly emphasizes that very good training is essential for this sport, not only because of the safety requirements, but also in order to establish a positive image of the sport in the public.

Foucan became famous in the UK after appearing in Mike Christie's Jump London documentary in September 2003 , which aired nationwide on Channel Four.

In the 21st "James Bond" film Casino Royale , Foucan played Mollaka , during which he demonstrated freerunning in a chase with James Bond for several minutes. Filming in the Bahamas lasted several months.

In 2006 Foucan also had a guest appearance on Madonna's “Confessions Tour” during “Jump” and “Hung up”, which can be seen on the 2007 DVD “The Confessions Tour”.

In 2012 he took part in the seventh season of the British figure skating show Dancing on Ice .
