Séminaire Nicolas Bourbaki
The Séminaire Nicolas Bourbaki ( Bourbaki Seminar ) is a series of seminar lectures that have been given in Paris since 1948 and are internationally regarded as a reflection of the state of research in mathematics. It was initiated by mathematicians from the Bourbaki area such as Henri Cartan . Today they take place at the Institut Henri Poincaré . As a rule, four to five lectures take place three times a year (January, June, November), given by internationally recognized mathematicians, mostly on the work of others. The lectures are public. They are published, formerly self-published, then by Benjamin, by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes in Mathematics, today in the Astérisque series of the French Mathematical Society .
