Sérgio Abreu (musician)

Sérgio Abreu (born June 5, 1948 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian guitarist .

Together with his brother Eduardo he studied classical guitar with Antonio Rebello and Adolfina Raitzin de Távora . Since 1963 they have performed solo or as a duo. In 1967 he won 1st place at the France Télévisions International Guitar Competition in Paris ( Concours International de Guitare ). His repertoire includes numerous pieces by Isaac Albéniz , Enrique Granados , Maurice Ravel , Guido Santorsola , Domenico Scarlatti and Antonio Vivaldi .
