Sólveig Pétursdóttir

Sólveig Guðrún Pétursdóttir (born March 11, 1952 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic politician ( Independence Party ).

Life

Sólveig Pétursdóttir has been at the University of Iceland jurisprudence studied and received in 1980 the admission as a lawyer before the court. Among other things, she worked for a law firm, was a teacher at the Icelandic Business School ( Verzlunarskóli Íslands ) and was a member of the Reykjavík City Council from 1986 to 1990. From 1991 to 2007 Sólveig Pétursdóttir was a member of the Icelandic parliament Althing , first for the then constituency of the capital Reykjavík , from 2003 to 2007 for the constituency of Reykjavík-Süd . From 1999 to 2003 she was Minister for Justice and Religion. From 2005 to 2007 she was President of Parliament.
