Søborg Castle is a ruined castle in Denmark . Once the strongest castle in Denmark, it played an important role in Danish history.

Bishop Eskil von Lund built the first castle complex in the 12th century, a closed fortress with a curtain wall and moat , which also served as a prison . A town church was built on the site of the castle in 1180.
