Sür un Siess
Sür un Siess was a television program of the French regional program France 3 Alsace , which was hosted every Saturday from 1995 to 2008 at 5 pm in Alsatian by Simone Morgenthaler; the restaurateur Hubert Maetz cooked. The focus was on the culinary tradition of Alsace . The show was shot in a cooking studio. In the 471 programs so far, people from all over Alsace have been presented and recordings made of their living environment; as a result, other regional information than just cooking and baking was incorporated.
Sür un Siess was the most popular show on FR3 Alsace after the local news. The abolition of the program after the summer break of 2008 led to emotional reactions from viewers.
The General Councils of the Bas-Rhin and Haut-Rhin departments and the Alsatian Regional Council protested against the resolution of FR3 Alsace . In addition to the continuation of this program, they demanded that the programs for Alsace be increased instead of reduced. In an internet petition, over 3,300 people protested against the abolition of the program.
