Sıtkı Üke
Mehmet Sıtkı Üke (* 1877 in Selânik , Ottoman Empire ; † October 22, 1941 in Istanbul ) was an Ottoman and Turkish military and a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey .
Life
On March 26, 1896 he began his military training at the artillery school which he finished on December 13, 1899 with the rank of Üsteğmen . On November 4, 1904, he was promoted to Yüzbaşı . On April 27, 1910 he was promoted to Binbaşı and on November 29, 1914 to Yarbay . On March 1, 1921, he was promoted to Albay and on August 30, 1927 to Tümgeneral .
During his military service, Üke took part in the Italo -Turkish War , the First World War and the Turkish War of Liberation .
After his retirement on April 16, 1935, he joined the Republican People's Party and was a member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly for the fifth and sixth legislative periods.
Üke received the İstiklâl Madalyası .
