The series ТЭП80 (German transcription : TEP80) are two diesel locomotives of the Soviet Railways (SŽD).

The two locomotives of this type were built from 1988 to 1989. The second locomotive of the type (ТЭП80-0002) set the world record for diesel rail vehicles at 271 km / h on the Schljus – Doroschicha section of the Saint Petersburg – Moscow railway north of Tver on October 5, 1993 . The record locomotive is now in the Russian Railway Museum of Saint Petersburg next to the Baltic Station .

Due to the lower demand in connection with the dissolution of the Soviet Union , the type did not go into series production.
