S-210

S-210 was the name of a Japanese sounding rocket that was used for research flights in the ionosphere . It was launched primarily from the Shōwa station in Antarctica .

The single-stage S-210 had a maximum flight altitude of 110 kilometers and a takeoff weight of 300 kg. The missile manufactured by Nissan was 21 centimeters in diameter and 5.20 meters in length. It was launched 47 times between 1966 and 1982.
