history

The SC Internacional was founded on August 19, 1899 as one of the oldest football clubs in Brazil from the player community run by the Hamburg immigrant Hans Nobiling . Due to a name dispute, Nobiling left the club in the same year and founded the SC Germânia with other Germans . In 1902, both clubs were among the five founding clubs of the São Paulo State Cup , the oldest football competition in Brazil, which Internacional won itself in 1907 and 1928.

After the club got into financial difficulties, it merged with Antarctica FC in 1933 to form Clube Atlético Paulista , which in turn was incorporated into today's top club São Paulo FC in 1938.
