Club history

The swimming club Poseidon Koblenz eV was founded on June 4th, 1920 as a men's swimming club. Back then, swimming training took place in the “Residenzbad” swimming pool or in the “Rheinbadeanstalt Ehrenbreitstein ”. After the Second World War, the club was re-approved by the French military administration on November 12, 1946 and joined the Rhineland Swimming Association. With the opening of the two Koblenz swimming pools Stadtbad next to the Balduin Bridge in 1966 and “Beatusbad” in the gold mine in 1975, there was a sporting upswing, the number of members of the association grew to 1,400 today.
