SDG index

The SDG index (ger .: SDG & dashboards Index) is a theoretical size with which to achieve the 17 goals of sustainable development (ger .: Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs) can be specified quantitatively. The Bertelsmann Foundation is the author of this figure . The aim is to use the ranking to make the SDGs easier to communicate and to be able to more easily compare the status of individual countries in terms of implementation.

History and structure

The SDG index was presented by the private Bertelsmann Foundation and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) in New York at the High-Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development and presented to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon .

In this edition of the SDG index, 149 countries are compared.

In the original English version, the index is called SDG Index & Dashboards . The Bertelsmann Foundation's Council for Sustainable Development use the German translation SDG index .
