The SKC 1947 Victoria Bamberg is a bowling club in the Bavarian city ​​of Bamberg .

founding

In the post-war period the clubhouse was used to provide accommodation for refugees. It was not until 1947 that residents were able to uncover the two lanes again in order to be able to practice bowling. In 1952 the bowling community split and part founded the SKC in 1947 Victoria Bamberg.

history

In 1954 they merged with a small club and so the first women's team was founded. With the increase, the old tracks were no longer sufficient and the club changed the arena and bowled initially at the "Schützenclub 04" in the stadium area, later in Moosstrasse.

The first team played in the highest class in the following years. The second team was often champions in the A-class. The women's team had varying successes. In 1959, a youth player from SKC Victoria became German youth champions.

In the next ten years there were some successes, but there were also some relegations. The club's great successes began in the early 1990s. In 1996 the youth department was founded.

The association currently has 154 members (75 passives). 108 of them are men and 46 women, including 15 young people. There are five men's, two women's and two youth teams.

1st men's team

In 1977 the team was one of the 15 best bowling teams in Germany. In 1978 the national leagues were founded. The team lost out behind “Gut Holz Nürnberg” and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. However, they made it to the top division two years later . The relegation took place in 1984 after having achieved midfield positions in previous years. In 1985 the team made it to the 1st Bundesliga again.

In 1990 the first triple was achieved. They became German champions, as well as Bavarian and German cup winners. And was able to achieve 3rd place in the world cup. In 1995 the team won the European Cup on their own tracks.

1. Women's team

The first women's team was founded in 1954. In the beginning with only moderate success. But it increased in later years.

The team's great rise began in 1994. From then on, the women became champions every year and made it to the 1st Bundesliga in 1999, where they won the championship in the same year. So they made it to the German Cup winner in the same year and were able to win the World Cup.

2. Men's team

From 1987 the team rose from the Bezirksliga-Ofr-A-West every year and played in 1991 in the Bayernliga, where they became champions. In 2009 the leagues were redistributed and since then they have been in the 3rd Bundesliga South.
