SLC1 ( S chess and L ern C omputer 1 ) is a chess computer kit that was developed by Dieter Scheuschner.

hardware

The hardware was relatively simple, it consisted of only 25 chips. The entry was made using 13 keys. An LED shone during calculations . All components had to be procured in-house.

There were also industrially manufactured chess computers in the GDR .

software

There was a nameless monitor program and a chess program. The chess program always started automatically, the monitor was reached by pressing the button five times A1. Saving and loading other software was not possible.

emulation

JKCEMU emulates the chess computer.
