Soko Friedhof is a Berlin music project by Undead member David A. Line . The use of film quotations and the humorous treatment of common clichés of the black scene are striking . David A. Line describes his band Undead on the Soko Cemetery website as the "celebration", while Soko Cemetery is "the puke afterwards".

Band history

David A. Line worked for some time as a DJ with his friend Demian in the Berlin club Geschlossen Anstalt . They bored the ready-made samplers , so around 1997 they started SOKO Friedhof to create their own club music. The first David A. Line Elextro experiments were started in the Engelwerk (predecessor of Soko Friedhof) and Candy's trash till death (predecessor of Paloma in Blood). Grave beauty , the first CD, was using a drum machine created and various film samples and 1999 its magazine The mouth settled. In 2001, a little over a year after Grave Beauties , the album Im Confessional of Desire was released.

In the summer of 2001, a couple of Satanists from Witten who had a Soko cemetery sticker on their car committed a ritual murder , as a result of which the band was considered complicit in the media for them (see the murder of von Witten ). Among other things, as a reaction to this, the album The Story of a Werewolf was created in 2002 , in which both the question of whether art is responsible for the deeds that its admirers perform and David A. Line's favorite book Berlin Alexanderplatz are dealt with.

Subsequently, the split release Undead vs. Soko Friedhof , which should fill the meantime until the next album, as David A. Line was busy with his undead project Gravestone Land at that time .

The CD Bloodthirsty Girl , released in 2004 , was the most successful record to date with various club hits, for example Bloodthirsty Girl and Bloodsucker (And you are coming ...) . Due to the level of popularity it had achieved, David also considered it appropriate to bring out a Best Of in 2005 .

In 2006 the album Jesussaft was finally created . On December 7, 2007, the new album Ringtones of Satan was released .

In 2008, Meinhard Hüsemann , the mayor of Nordhorn , prohibited the group from giving a concert in the local youth center . In a statement he gave as reasons, among other things, text passages that are harmful to minors.

From 2011 to 2015, the musician and artist Maria Von Lilienstein was an integral part of the band and, in addition to the vocal performance, was also responsible for the graphics of Soko Friedhof. Maria left the band in 2015 to devote herself to her own projects.

At the WGT 2015 in Leipzig, Lilith Munster made her live debut with Soko Friedhof.
