Some results / recommendations for action
- Overall, there is a clear need for research.
- The requirements and demands of the guidelines and curricula are high and divergent in the individual federal states. ( Educational federalism )
- Education policy is called upon to participate in the programmatic work and to support urgently needed research.
- Investments in school sports facilities are necessary and should not be put off the back burner. In particular, the supply of swimming facilities must be secured.
- The scope of physical education provided by the curriculum must be adhered to.
- The proportion of non-subject physical education must be reduced.
- Concepts and measures for quality assurance in the field of school sports must be developed.
- The position of the subject and the importance of the sports grades must be strengthened so that they do not degenerate into cosmetic additions.
- The extracurricular sport cannot and must not be used as a substitute for compulsory school sport.
- School sport is of particular importance with regard to all-day school concepts.
