  • Curricula and curriculum development in sport (in different federal states)
  • Sports facility situation
  • empirical recording of current physical education from the point of view of school management, teachers, students and parents
  • extracurricular school sport

Some results / recommendations for action

  • Overall, there is a clear need for research.
  • The requirements and demands of the guidelines and curricula are high and divergent in the individual federal states. ( Educational federalism )
  • Education policy is called upon to participate in the programmatic work and to support urgently needed research.
  • Investments in school sports facilities are necessary and should not be put off the back burner. In particular, the supply of swimming facilities must be secured.
  • The scope of physical education provided by the curriculum must be adhered to.
  • The proportion of non-subject physical education must be reduced.
  • Concepts and measures for quality assurance in the field of school sports must be developed.
  • The position of the subject and the importance of the sports grades must be strengthened so that they do not degenerate into cosmetic additions.
  • The extracurricular sport cannot and must not be used as a substitute for compulsory school sport.
  • School sport is of particular importance with regard to all-day school concepts.
