SP Kyōto FC ( Japanese SP 京都 FC Esu Pī Kyōto Efu Shī ) was a Japanese football club from Mukō in Kyōto Prefecture . He played in the Japan Football League between 2003 and 2015 .

history

The club was founded in 1986 under the name Sagawa Insatsu Soccer-bu ( 佐川 印刷 サ ッ カ ー 部 , ~ Sakkā-bu , English Sagawa Printing SC ) as a company team of the printing press group of the same name . In the first few years, the club was only active in the lower leagues of the Kyoto prefecture, before the rise in the highest prefecture league in 1999; a year later they reached the Kansai Regionalliga. After winning the championship in 2002 and a subsequent second place in the national regional league finals , the last hurdle to climb the fifteenth of the Japan Football League 2002, Shizuoka Sangyo University FC , had to overcome in relegation games. After a goalless return game, Sagawa Printing finally won 5-3 on penalties.

Since the promotion to the JFL, the team mostly achieved a place in the secured midfield of the table. The best result was achieved in 2014 with a second place in the overall table, and even the second round championship of the separately rated season could be won. In the same year the prefectural name was added to the club name ( 佐川 印刷 京都 サ ッ カ ー ク ラ ブ , Sagawa Insatsu Kyōto Sakkā-bu ); just a year later, it was renamed SP Kyōto FC again . The team was disbanded towards the end of the 2015 season .
