SSX 3
SSX 3 was released in October 2003 for the PlayStation 2 , GameCube , Xbox , Game Boy Advance and Gizmondo platforms .
Game setup
The whole game takes place on a mountain, which is divided into three peaks. Summit one is the easiest and three more suitable for advanced climbers. At the beginning of the game, the player starts on peak one and must achieve various goals in order to unlock the next peak. The game is divided into three basic so-called Events ("Event"). Racing (“race”), freestyle (“freestyle”) and freeride (“free driving”). By successfully completing one of the event categories on a summit, the next higher is unlocked.
Racing
The player must travel a course as quickly as possible and reach the goal before the computer-controlled opponents. Five basic courses are planned for this event. In addition, the player must beat a rival on each peak in a direct duel off the slopes in order to unlock the next peak. As the last race event of each summit, there is a race over almost all slopes that have been activated so far, which means that an almost 30-minute descent can be made on summit 3.
Freestyle
The player has to show particularly complicated tricks and driving maneuvers on a special course in order to reap as many points as possible. The freestyle competition is divided into three different categories. The big air ("big jump") amounts to a very high jump in which the player has to collect points. The Slopestyle is a longer track full of ramps and railings, on which the player can actually slide to achieve high ratings. The super pipe is a particularly high half-pipe in which the player has to achieve as many trick points as possible in a given time. Even in freestyle mode, the player must complete a rival challenge at the end of the three courses specified under "Racing" in order to reach the next summit.
Freeride
In this mode, the player can drive the event courses without any opponents and requirements, drive on the connecting slopes between the public courses or buy clothes or additional physical performance in the lodge ("hut"). In addition, various challenges are offered on the slopes in which the player z. B. has to descend a slope without falling or should only achieve a certain number of points by slides.
driver
At the beginning of the game, the player has nine characters to choose from. In addition to these characters, so-called cheat boarders can be unlocked during the game, which the player can choose.
SSX ON Tour
Innovation: the mountain can be climbed almost without restriction and for the first time it is also possible to ski .
SSX (2012)
The new edition of the game for the consoles PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is announced as a massively multiplayer online game .
Trivia
