ST13 stands for a series of Darmstadt trams. ST13 stands for S traßenbahn T rubbed venture 13 . Series. HEAG owns a total of 20 railcars of this type, with road numbers 9855–9874. With the commissioning of the ST13, low-floor multiple units were used in Darmstadt for the first time. Manufacturers are LHB and Adtranz. All vehicles are one-way vehicles. The ST13 were converted from a roll-up display to an LED display. Similar vehicles run on the Magdeburg tram as articulated multiple units NGT8D . These were a model for Darmstadt, but the Darmstadters are 2.4 m wide, but around two meters shorter in the C-part.

Structure and equipment

A railcar is 27.831 meters long and consists of three vehicle modules, with a double-axle motor bogie under the first and the last and two double-axle small wheel bogies under the second. The total drive power is 4 × 95 kW, the motors are water-cooled. All three vehicle modules have a double outer pivoting sliding door and the first and last car parts at the front and rear end each have a single outer pivoting sliding door.

There are 81 seats and 80 standing places per vehicle, so a total of 161 people can be transported.

The handrails are painted pink in all vehicles, with the exception of some of the handrails in the first part of the car, as extra facilities for wheelchairs were retrofitted there later. In the first and last vehicle module, the floors are raised at the end, as the vehicle engines are housed there. All railcars have a yellow triangle on the outside mirror, otherwise the mirrors are easily overlooked by the passengers. Only railcar 9864 has a green circle on the exterior mirror.

commitment

The ST13 can be found on all lines, in mixed traffic with ST14 and ST12 as well as with attached SB9.
