Magdeburg

The Magdeburger Verkehrsbetriebe owns 83 railcars of this type, with the road numbers 1301-1383. It is the only type of low-floor tram in Magdeburg . The vehicles were delivered in four delivery series, which differ slightly from each other. The partially dismantled car bodies for vehicles 1301-1325 from Waggonbau Dessau were manufactured in Dessau , the car bodies for vehicles with road numbers 1326-1372 in Bombardier Transportation in Bautzen and the car bodies for vehicles with road numbers 1373-1383 in Bombardier Transportation in Ammendorf . The final assembly of all vehicles took place at Alstom LHB in Salzgitter.

Structure and equipment

A railcar is 29.3 meters long and consists of three vehicle modules, with a double-axle motor bogie under the first and last and two double-axle small-wheel bogies under the second. The total drive power is 4 x 95 kW, the motors are water-cooled. All three vehicle modules have a double outer pivoting sliding door and the first and last car have a single outer pivoting sliding door at the front and rear ends. There are 70 seats and 155 standing places per vehicle, so a total of 225 people can be transported. Originally there were 71 seats in the NGT8D. However, the 71st seat in all vehicles had to be expanded in 2008 by installing the ticket machines. The handrails are painted pink in the vehicles of the first three series and green in the latest series. In the first and last vehicle module, the floors are raised at the end, as the vehicle engines are housed there.

commitment

The NGT8D can be found in all lines. Since March 2, 2011, a sidecar operation with Tatra B6A2D has been taking place , these combinations have about the capacity of the Tatra large trains. The acquired from Berlin sidecar were MVB - professionals modernized and adapted for use behind the LF car. Each of the eleven train combinations cost around 120,000 euros. The sidecars have the road numbers 2201 to 2211 and are coupled with the NGT8D 1301 to 1311.

Darmstadt

The HEAG mobilo GmbH owns 38 cars of this type, available in two delivery series ( ST13 + ST14 ). Sidecar operation is sometimes carried out with type SB9 cars .

Gera

The traffic and operating company Gera uses 12 vehicles of this type of vehicle which it receives insolvent Gera transport company had taken over.

Braunschweig

The Braunschweiger Verkehrs-AG since 2007. 12 vehicles has the type of car. To increase the capacity, some of the DUEWAG B4 sidecars of the 1974 series were adjusted in terms of color and technology so that they could be used with the NGT8D. Due to the length of the platform, the last door of the sidecar had to be removed.
