STN 7

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

STN 7 is probably an enzyme that, together with STN 8, causes the phosphorylations in thylakoids of chloroplasts in the course of photosynthesis .

properties

It is assumed that STN 7 is a kinase and a transmembrane protein , which primarily catalyzes the phosphorylation in the light-harvesting complex 2, whereby the light-harvesting complex II is released from the photosystem II and the diffusion along the biomembrane to the photosystem I is made possible. The complementary phosphatase to STN7 is PPH1.
