history
The SV 1928 Heggen e. V. was founded in 1928 under the club name DJK Heggen. In 1937 the association was banned under the rule of the National Socialists and was re-established as SV 1928 Heggen after World War II. In the game year 1956/1957 SV Heggen won the championship of the 1st district class undefeated and rose to the district league. In the first year you just had to let TuS Iserlohn come first at the top of the table. In the third regional league year 1960/1961, the team finally rose to the state league, then the second highest amateur class in the country. In the season 1961/1962 they just missed the renewed promotion and finished second behind the team from Iserlohn. Only a year later you had to accept relegation to the district class, where you played until the 1970s. Between 1973 and 1978, SV Heggen commuted between district class and district class. After you could establish yourself from 1978 in the district class, the renewed promotion to the state league followed in 1982. They were able to hold on there for over ten years and narrowly missed the championship several times. In 1992, he was relegated to the district class, before relegated to the district class in 1994, where he has stayed since then. In 2016, SV Heggen is currently at home in the single-track district league A Olpe, the highest inner-district league.
In total, SV Heggen sometimes had four senior teams in active play. In addition to the first team, a second senior team, three old league teams and seven youth teams, some in a youth syndicate with FC Finnentrop , are currently participating in the game.
Sports facility
The sports field at Daspel , also called Daspel Stadium , has been the home ground of SV Heggen since 1928. At the club's heyday, up to 3,000 spectators gathered on the ramparts around the running track of the sports field. In 2006, Aschenplatz and running track had to give way to a modern artificial turf facility. In addition to the covered grandstand, under which the athletes' home and the cabin wing are located, there was also a covered grandstand on the back straight, which was also dismantled in the course of the renovation. Furthermore, the modernized sports area at Daspel offers a beach volleyball field, a street basketball court, and several athletic facilities. In addition, the clubhouse was completely modernized in 2018 and a new ticket office was built in 2019.
