The FC Finnentrop (officially football club Finnentrop 1979 eV ) is a sports club from Finnentrop in Olpe . The first women's soccer team once took part in the DFB Cup .

history

The association was founded on April 2, 1979. In October 1979, a women's training group was founded, which took part in the official game operation the following year. After promotions in 1982, 1985 and 1991, it made the leap into the then third-class Association League Westphalia . After relegation in 1999, four years later, he was promoted to the Westphalian upper house. Relegation to the regional league followed in 2005. A year later, the team reached the final of the Westphalia Cup and lost to the second team of FC Gütersloh in 2000 with 0: 1. Since the Gütersloherinnen were not allowed to take part in the DFB Cup as the second team, FC Finnentrop moved up. In the first round, the team was defeated by the second division SuS Timmel with 1: 6. At the end of the season, the Finns were relegated to the district league and managed to get promoted again. In the 2008/09 season, as a newcomer, unbeaten even managed to march through to the highest Westphalian league, now known as the Westfalenliga . After another descent in 2012, the direct rise again succeeded. In 2017 the FCF was relegated to the national league again.

The men's team of FC Finnentrop has so far not got beyond the district league A. Since relegation in 2010, the team has been playing in the district league B.
