The SV Bernbach is a sports club from the Hesse Freigericht belonging Bernbach .
history
The club was founded in autumn 1919 as the Germania Bernbach football club . After the Second World War , it was re-established as the Bernbach Sports Community in 1945 , from which the 1919 Sports Club Bernbach emerged in 1953 .
After SV Bernbach had played in lower-class leagues for many years, the club rose to the state league in 1990 and then to the Hesse upper league in 1995 . 1998 was the club's most successful year to date. They won the runner-up in the Oberliga and thus the relegation to promotion to the Regionalliga Süd, in which they missed the promotion as a runner-up behind SC Pfullendorf .
In the following time the association got financial difficulties and after the tax audit by the tax office and the subsequent tax assessment it was about to end, but was able to avert bankruptcy. In 2001, SV Bernbach was refused the league license in the first round and was only granted retrospectively after long negotiations. Despite the tight budget, I still managed to belong to the highest Hessian soccer class.
In 2005 and after the immediate resurgence in 2007, he was relegated to the state league. After another relegation in 2008, the club played in the group league. 2011 was followed by another relegation, this time in the eight-class district upper league Gelnhausen .
The second team of SV Bernbach plays in the district league C Gelnhausen.
SV Bernbach achieved a small sensation when they defeated KSV Hessen Kassel, who played two classes higher in the 2007/08 season, 4: 3 after extra time in the Hessen Cup .
