SV Germania Bietigheim

The SV Germania Bietigheim is a sports and football club in Bietigheim in Baden .

The club was founded in 1919. When the war broke out, however, it was over with the exception of athletics , which trained until 1942. But soon after the Second World War , the association was re-established on February 1, 1946.

At the beginning of 1949 Heinz Fütterer won the German championship in the long jump in Braunschweig and SV Germania Bietigheim provided a German champion for the first time . Heinz Fütterer then moved to FC Phönix Karlsruhe , the later Karlsruher SC.

After different divisions of the surrounding communities into different game classes, there was an up and down. From the beginning of the 50s, after the establishment of the 2nd amateur league , the new league played in the second season. A promotion did not want to succeed until the season 1968/69, until one finally managed to move up to the highest German amateur league, the 1st amateur league. This was also the highest rank achieved to date. After the second season things went downhill rapidly, up to the A-class. Since then there has been a constant up and down, but the old successes could not be repeated. After the 2017/18 season, SV Germania Bietigheim rose again to the A district league after 2 years.
