The SV Kray 04 (officially: Spielverein Kray 04 eV ) is a football club from the Essen district of Kray . The first team played for two years in the highest amateur league in the Lower Rhine region.

history

The association was founded in 1904. In the 1920s, the team played in the then second-class 2nd district class Ruhr . In 1928, as runners-up in the group behind STV Horst-Emscher , the team narrowly missed the promotion round to the top division. After the Second World War , in 1948 he was promoted to the state league , the highest amateur league on the Lower Rhine at the time. After two years, after a 2-0 play-off defeat against VfB Speldorf, it went back down to the Ruhr district league, where the Krayer were passed through to the district class.

The rise was achieved in 1955. In 1961 it went back down to the district class. In the meantime, the Krayers succeeded in being promoted to the state league again in 1991. Six years later, the descent followed, which was followed by the direct resurgence. In 2002 it went back to the district league. In 2012, SV Kray 04 rose to the district league A and five years later in the district league B.
