Sa Font de sa Cala or Platja Font de sa Cala describes a sandy beach in the municipality of Capdepera in the northeast of the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca . It is located on the southwest side of the Cala de sa Font bay . The neighboring small tourist settlement Font de sa Cala is named after the beach.

The bay of Cala de sa Font is located about three kilometers from Capdepera to the south. It can be reached from both Capdepera and Cala Rajada. The bay got its unusual name from a freshwater spring , which is located on the right below the rocks in the photo. In contrast to the rest of the salty sea, the water there is very cold even in summer.

Beach

The location of the beach is picturesque, the small bay is bordered by gently sloping, lightly wooded cliffs. The sandy beach is only 200 meters long. This picture is somewhat disturbed by the hotels built right up to the water. Many water sports such as windsurfing , sailing and diving are offered. There are several restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

settlement

The Font de sa Cala settlement is a small town with a few larger hotels. In summer, the nostalgic rides trackless train "Cala Rajada Express" several times from Font de sa Cala to Cala Rajada there and back. There are some villas above the village with fantastic views. The entertainer Harald Schmidt lived here for a short time . There are several golf courses in the area.
