The Safety Spur (English for safety spur ) is a small rock spur in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Dominion Range it rises from a massive and isolated hill between the end of the Vandament Glacier and the western flank of the Mill Glacier .
The southern group of a 1961 to 1962 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named him because he was the only safe landing point for this team after crossing the Mill Glacier in November 1961 .
