Saffie Sankareh

Saffie Sankareh (* in the 20th century) is a Gambian lawyer.

Life

Saffie Sankareh attended Ghana Law School and in 2009 Aberystwyth University (United Kingdom), where she did a Bachelor of Law. In 2010 she attended the University of Law and in 2011 the University of Bristol .

As a lawyer, she worked as a public prosecutor in the office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice in Gambia from September 2011. From September 2013 to June 2014 she worked in Geneva and advised member states of the World Trade Organization (WTO). From September 2014 to September 2015 she lectured at the University of the Gambia as a lecturer in international trade and investment law. When Cherno Marenah and nine other people were arrested, charged, and dismissed in May 2016, she was appointed to succeed her as Solicitor General and Legal Secretary . In May 2017, Marenah returned to his previous position as Solicitor General and Legal Secretary, Saffie Sankareh moved to the Gambian Foreign Ministry as State Secretary and Head of International Law. In July 2018 she moved to the office of the Vice President, where she works as State Secretary and advisor on legal issues.
