Saghatoleslam

Saghatoleslam also Saghat-ol-islam ( Persian ثقه‌الاسلام, 'Confidante of Islam'; Arabic ثقة الإسلام Thiqat al-Islām , DMG ṯiqatu l-islām ) is a religious title of Shiite Islam in Iran .

A qualification from a theological college is a prerequisite for wearing the title. Independent decisions in the religious field are thus allowed, but no ijtihad , which in modern times is reserved for the Ayatollah . The title "Saghatoleslam", the predecessor level of Hodschatoleslam , entitles to the education of Islamic students. In the hierarchy of theology studies, the bearer stands above the singer (of martyrdom), preacher, prayer leader and Friday preacher.
