biography
In 1929 Altınordu began his career at Altınordu Izmir at the age of 16 and played there his entire career. He also took part in the 1936 Summer Olympics with the Turkish national team. In total, he came to four missions for his country. He ended his career at the age of 43. He always wore the number 8. The number was passed on, although Sait Altınordu is very important to the club. After the end of his career, Altınordu ran a small restaurant in Alsancak.
He had offers from Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe , all of which he declined. He identified himself so strongly with his club that when the Family Name Act was introduced in Turkey in 1934 , he even baptized his last name in Altınordu. Not least because of this, he is still admired by fans of the club to this day, and he is also considered a symbol of Aegean football. In the center of Alsancak there is now a statue of him, which was inaugurated at the end of 2014.
