Sajida Chairallah Talfah ( Arabic ساجدة خيرالله طلفاح, DMG Sāǧida Ḫair Allāh Ṭalfāḥ ) (born June 24, 1936 ) is the first of three wives and cousin of Saddam Hussein .

She is the mother of two sons Udai and Qusai and three daughters, Raghad , Rana and Hala Hussein . She is the eldest daughter of Saddam's uncle Chairallah Talfah , who took him in and raised him when Saddam was 9 years old. The marriage between her and Saddam was arranged in childhood. Sadjida and Saddam Hussein were married in 1963 when the Ba'ath Party came to power in Iraq. Before she married him, she was an elementary school teacher. Her brother was the Iraqi general and defense minister Adnan Chairallah . Sadschida Talfah was placed under house arrest in 1997. This happened after her son Udai Hussein was assassinated in December 1996.

In April 2003, Sadschida Talfah fled Iraq and went to Lebanon. She later applied for and received a residence permit in Qatar and moved to the local capital, Doha , where she was under the protection of the ruling family.

In 2008, the multi-part television series The Husseins: In the Center of Power was created in which the Iranian actress Shohreh Aghdashloo took on the role of Sadschida.
