Raghad Hussein (born September 2, 1968 ; in Baghdad ) is the eldest daughter of the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein .

In 1983 Raghad Hussein married Hussein Kamel , a close confidante of Saddam Hussein who, among other things, directed the country's weapons programs. Kamel fled to Jordan in 1995 , where he passed information on to UNSCOM , the CIA and MI6 . However, he returned to Iraq in 1996 and was killed shortly afterwards along with his brother, who was married to a sister of Raghad Hussein. The marriage between Raghad Hussein and Hussein Kamel had five children.

In the course of the Iraq war , Raghad fled to Jordan. On July 2, 2006, Iraqi National Security Advisor Mowaffak al-Rubaie announced that Raghad and her mother Sadschida Talfah were wanted by the Iraqi government because they would support the insurgents inside the country. The Jordanian government then made it clear that Raghad Hussein was under their protection and refused extradition. On December 30, 2006, Saddam Hussein was executed in Baghdad . Shortly before the execution , Raghad Hussein demanded that her father be buried in Yemen until the coalition forces were driven out of Iraq. In August 2007, Interpol issued an international arrest warrant against her. This was justified with the suspicion that Raghad Hussein supported the insurgents, meanwhile also the IS in Iraq.
